Introduction


Health Education is a process which affects changes in health behaviour of people. The training in Health Education at post graduate level is directed to study and understand various factors involved in the process of imparting knowledge and changing attitude and behaviour of the people so as to promote health. It is an integral part of the institute and actively involved in teaching and training activities in the field of health education and promotion; specially the techniques and methods of assessing health needs, educational needs and planning for changing undesirable health behaviour to different post graduate courses run by the institute. Since 1966 the department is conducting a Diploma course in Health Education and has produced more than 1090 trained manpower in Health Promotion and Education.

  • Regular Courses Conducted:



Diploma in Health Promotion and Education – a one year post graduate course for developing Health Promotion and Education Specialists. The course has an intake capacity of 46 and is affiliated to the West Bengal University of Health Sciences.
