Report of Short Course Training-Workshop on Scientific Writing
A short course training-workshop on “Scientific Writing” was conducted in Bidhan Nagar Campus, Block-JC, Sector-III, Salt Lake City, Kolkata-700106 of All India Institute of Hygiene & Public Health, Kolkata from 12-14th February 2020. There were a total of 17 (seventeen) participants, all EXTERNAL, mostly the young scientists, Junior residents of community medicine of different medical colleges of West Bengal and Odisha including faculty member (Assistant Professor- one), AYUSH doctors (Homeopathy 2 and Dental 1).
The program was inaugurated on 12th February by Additional Director, BN Campus & Director Professor & HOD, dept. of B & N, Dr. R. R. Pati. Dr. Atul Raj, HOD, dept. of Microbiology was also present. The speakers of the program were mostly internal, namely, Dr. S. K. Sadhukhan, HOD, dept. of Epidemiology, Dr. D. Pal, Director Professor, dept. of Epidemiology, Dr. B. Paul, HOD, dept. of PSM and Dr. R. N. Sinha, Director Professor, dept. of MCH. Two renowned guest speakers also took sessions in the program e.g. Dr. Samir Dasgupta, Professor, dept. of Community Medicine, KPC Medical College, Kolkata and Dr. Santanu Kumar Tripathi, Professor 7 HOD, dept. of Clinical Pharmacology, School of Tropical Medicine, Kolkata.
The program ended on 14th February 2020. Feedback from the participants were very good to excellent with request for more and more such programs in future. The valedictory session was also chaired by Additional Director, BN Campus & Director Professor & HOD, dept. of B & N, Dr. R. R. Pati.
